Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Boulie is a sourdough starter companion made by Alejandro Portillo Guerrero ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data Boulie handles and where it lives. The short version: your data stays on your phone.
Data stored on your device
- Starter profile & logs — your starter's name, feeds, rise checks, and bakes are saved locally on your device and included in your normal iOS device backups.
- Photos — jar and loaf photos you take or attach are stored locally in the app's private storage. They are never uploaded to us.
- Usage events — the app keeps a small local log of in-app events (like "onboarding completed") to help us improve Boulie. This log currently never leaves your device.
What we don't do
- No account, no sign-up, no passwords.
- No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- Camera images are processed on-device only.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's handling of that data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Notifications & alarms
Feed reminders, peak alerts, and bake-step alarms are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification servers are involved.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app deletes all of Boulie's local data, including photos and logs.
Changes
If Boulie ever adds features that send data off your device (like cloud sync), this policy will be updated first and the app will ask you before anything is shared.
